Description:
We are searching for a creative and dynamic designer to work for a fast-growing professional learning organization working with K-12 Schools, Higher Education and Corporate Clients. The instructional designer will be involved in designing instructional content for online and hybrid implementation, creating content, and building content modules using various platforms.
Responsible for:
- Collaborating with a team based on project management (Scrum) and instructional design (ADDIE) models
- Conducting thorough course analyses, including evaluation of course goals and learner needs
- Designing and developing engaging, informative, and visually compelling workshop and eLearning experiences
- Delivering content and presenting at workshops using varied presentation techniques including modeling, hands-on experiences, small-group collaboration, and large group instruction.
- Providing guidance on various aspects of course creation: visual design, copywriting, and layout
- Working with SMEs to gather course content and materials
- Continually evaluate the performance of existing workshops and eLearning courses and updating as needed
- Completing assigned projects (workshop proposals for schools, or creating special workshops/presentations for events) with deadlines
- Staying current with trends in education and instructional design to help us remain innovative and effective
Position Requires:
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as education, instructional design, or communications.
- One to three years’ experience in instructional design principles and learning strategies, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes and assessment design, and instructional approaches including lecture, discussion, activities, projects, etc.
- Knowledge of Instructional Design models such as ADDIE and implementing Universal Design for Learning Guidelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of applying adult learning theories and educational methodologies
- Ability to work independently and with a team; ability to foster teamwork and a collaborative environment
- Manage simultaneous training development initiatives with the ability to stay within timelines. Able to adjust to changes in priorities or scope of projects as needed
- Experience with Camtasia, Vyond, and Articulate Rise 360
- Comfortable working in Google Drive and Microsoft Office.
