Professional Learning Consultant (SAGE/Corwin Publishing)

Overview

The Professional Learning Consultant is responsible for continuing to build Corwin’s brand as a full service provider in the K-12 space by offering consulting work with clients in the field, supporting other Corwin consultants, creating new content, and assisting the organization’s sales and marketing efforts.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Consulting

Generates leads through social marketing, networking, and presenting at industry events and sales meetings where appropriateConducts a minimum of 70 consulting days with clients in the field per yearPresents at national and regional eventsParticipates in sales and marketing calls, demonstrations, meetings, and other key client-facing activitiesSupports on-going development and execution of the face-to-face business model  

 

Product Acquisition and Development

- Authors blogs, tweets, posts, articles, and booksIdentifies and helps sign acquisitions for books, consulting, and other appropriate opportunities
- Reviews content created by other Corwin authors that is relevant to their respective expertise
- Supports Learning product innovation and business development processes
- Liaises with multiple divisions within Corwin and SAGE as the learning model continues to be defined
- Works with Learning team to further development of products and services
- Supports key partnerships
- Supports the development and market assessment of new product concepts; predicts and manages change through the use of innovative methods
- Researches the learning solutions market, identifies trends and opportunities; facilitates interdepartmental communication to gather customer requirements; discovers new market opportunities

 
Business Development

- Supports Corwin social marketing and branding efforts by contributing to envisioning, creation, planning, and content development within various mediums
- Trains Corwin staff members and author consultants on content and strategies as appropriate
- Helps manage strategic alliance relationships to support Learning initiatives with key consultants, clients, key national and state education associations, organizations, and press
- Serves as company representative at Corwin and educational functions such as institutes

 
Qualifications & Education

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

- Minimum of five years experience in K-12 education, content creation and design, and delivering professional learning experiences to educators
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Demonstrated ownership of successful product strategies
- Demonstrated business planning and business case development abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; highly organized and detail oriented
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement special projects
- Demonstrated excellence in working with others and maintaining a positive working atmosphere for fellow employees
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing major projects or initiatives.
- Broad knowledge of, and experience with, computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as professional learning, web, and social networking tools
