About the job
As a member of our Teacher Experience team, you'll be responsible for creating content to support Kodable Teachers and engage our audience of Kodable Students. You’ll develop both print and digital teaching and learning content, as well as supplemental resources to aid teachers in the delivery of an engaging, quality STEM education. Your projects, content creation, and delivery methods will be driven by both teacher and student analytics.
In addition to working closely with our Teacher Support Specialist, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with the product, design, and marketing teams in your efforts to deliver educational resources to both students and teachers. Outside of the Kodable team, you’ll seek user feedback from different user profiles of teachers, principals, and K-5 STEM leaders.
Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on content, trends, and standards related to STEM and digital learning in K-12 education.
- Design digital K-5 STEM content for diverse student populations.
- Integrate an engagement-first ideology with learning goals and pedagogy
- Create easy-to-use interactive lessons and experiences for students.
- Review and report on teacher and student behavior via analytics dashboards; including teacher and student activity.
- Map game mechanics and play to educational standards.
- Monitor and measure key metrics to improve the product over time.
- Work closely with game designers and engineers to bring educational pedagogy into digital experiences for students.
- Determine criteria and tools used to assess learners’ performance and mastery of skills/standards.
Requirements:
- You have 2-4 years of professional work experience as a learning designer outside of the classroom.
- You have previous work experience in ed tech or K-12 education.
- You have knowledge of digital pedagogy, tools, resources and how to apply them to diverse learning environments.
- You’re analytical and use data to drive decisions.
- You possess the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and marketing teams
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills
- You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, remote work environment
- You care deeply about giving kids quality educational experiences
- You have a can-do attitude and a growth-mindset
Extra Credit:
- You have 1-2 years experience designing learning experiences digitally and with a STEM focus.
- You have received a K-8 Teaching Credential or earned a degree in education or child development.
- You have experience working at a startup.
- You have experience gamifying educational standards.
