Position Title: Social Media Specialist
Employment Type: Full-time employment
Location: Remote
Schedule: Variable schedule with 40 hours per week. Will include 20-30% travel and some weekends and evenings to cover events as needed.

Role Expectations
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for Daily content production, management, communications, and analysis of the Acceleration Academies social media channels. This includes communications and paid ads via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, along with others as directed.
Role Responsibilities
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Primary account manager of all Acceleration Academy flagship social media accounts
- Includes oversight of all aspects of social presence, including content development, posting, copywriting, planning, asset management, and coordination
- Leads development and execution of acceleration academies’ personality on social media — brand voice, tone, and application
- Ensures the Acceleration Academy brand is accurately represented across social media efforts
- Leads community management and academy reputation response across social media channels — answering questions, DMs, handling public commentary, addressing concerns and enrollment/registration inquiries
- Advises and liaises with Executive Director of Enrollment Marketing on potential or ongoing social media sentiment of both the broader social landscape and the academies’ social landscape
- Monitors the social media space regularly which may include some nights and weekends
- Leads content and campaign development efforts and develops tasks and work plans. ie. photography, video, and graphics, and content calendar planning.
- Event coverage, which may include some nights and weekends
- Responsible for surprise and delight opportunities — giveaways, candid interactions, real time events/graduation ceremonies, etc.
- Advises academy directors on social media applications, including effective uses of personal and branded social media
- Participate in meetings to provide social media guidance, direction, insight to marketing team & academy teams
- Remains up-to-date on content trends in the social media space and recommend content solutions to boost social media engagement
- Coordinates with agencies and/or places paid advertising including list targeting, retargeting, and geofencing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Marketing, or related field.
- 4+ years experience in a professional social media and/or marketing/communication role.
- Adobe CC: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro/Rush experience
- Previous experience working with/on a non-personal social media account (i.e. brand or organization social media experience)
- Strong understanding of how brand social media differs from personal social media in voice/tone, strategy, management, etc.
- Ability to adapt quickly to the ever-changing digital communication space and willingness to learn and adapt to meet emerging needs.
- Ability to fluently read and write in both English and Spanish.
